CASELA Vision Statement
CASELA – Caminho/Camino de Seda Latina America

Date: June 3, 2019 Draft for CASELA
Draft for CASELA

The creation of CASELA, or Latin American Silk Road and its “Economic model” is nothing more the total emulation of a 2000 years “economic model” of the rich trade route between China and Europe carried on by Arab caravans from China and Central Asia, the Middle East to Europe.

This is OBOR, or One Belt One Road, or the BRI – Bridge and Road (Economic) Initiative by China is one of the great worlds economic initiatives to have revitalized one of the most successful business engagement between China and the West.

The CASELA is both the emulation and the replication of this ancient economic trade and to bring onto the region of all Latin America, with all the more adjustment to the tools and ambiance of the modern era, the digital era via cyberspace.

The Chinese Silk Road is today one of the most succinct “economic model” to embrace all regions of the world and to all corners of this planet. It is also an economic initiative that is not based on wars and the economic model itself can also be called a “Peace initiative”. The 2000 years of a continuous trade had shown us all that it was a sustainable economic model, with fair trade with fair exchanges between people and nations.

We are determined to have CASELA, our Latin American Silk Road to follow those same economic objectives of OBOR/BRI and to foster the ideas ancient Silk Road Economic Exchanges onto the rest of Latin America.

There are many differences between the Chinese and the Latin Americans. We have determined to try our best to follow the following four (4) areas to enrich and to enhance the overall development of the mission of CASELA, the Latin American Silk Road:

Economics • Culture • Education • Communications

Economocracy

Democracy is a wonderful thing. However, democracy without the fair share of the people’s participation of their own economy, the key ingredient into a viable and successful democracy. Thus, the focus on the new term of ECONOMOCRACY is a good focus where the combination and the balance of any sustainable democracy must have a viable and sustainable economy.

It will require us all into fostering cultural and educational programs to help respective individuals to find this balance of a good balance between personal freedom, personal expression at the same time, to be aware of one’s economic survival in any country and be such participant to do our best to handle such balance and to be of value to our fellow citizens to learn and to share a joint cultivation of the future ECONOMOCRACY Voting can be universal, economic well-being often is not the same for everyone.

Thus, it is of utmost importance to do our own best to foster the sort of “shared” economies with one and the other within our national boundaries or beyond.

It is our observation where with the development of the OBOR/BRI and now CASELA, we are also following the Chinese success with the “alleviation of the poor” in recent years. Thus CASELA is the OBOR/BRI program to be launched and engaged now in all of Latin America. Our core value is to do likewise to alleviate as much as poverty is possible by the combination of CASELA/OBOR/BRI To be able to create and sustain the future share ECONOMOCRACY.

Founders

Paul Yih is the creator and director of Casela. Paul was born in Shanghai, China, (1948) raised in Macao/HK as a youngster with his Cantonese speaking mother and family.

By his association with the Roman Catholic order school – The Salesian of John Bosco from Turin, Italy. He had further acquired his learning Latin and Greek in the Roman Catholic mass service.

He was already born as a bi-lingual, bi-dialectic in Macau, with the introduction of the added languages like English, the exposure of the sounds of languages had already marked Paul as a cross-cultural bred person and onto his many “Cross-cultural” paths. At age 13, the family had moved to Brazil. Where the continuation of the Latin and Greek orientation with the same school system of the Salesians.
Where Portuguese had added onto Paul’s own language portfolio. Then college at the American universities, where Paul had further amplified his exposure of languages by his own interest to have acquired Spanish and later, Italian. Early on, per Paul, in his short five years in Shanghai, as a toddler, the exposure of the many languages – first, French were used in the Yih household, on account of his father, a graduate from Sorbonne, Paris and during the war time with Japan, where the Yih family were given assistance of then the central government and their needed of war materials into China.

The Yihs household had their daily exposure of the many more foreign visitors and in that household, more than five regional dialect in Chinese were used. This composed the “hearing” and earning at his younger age. The Academia/Educational background of the YIHS Prior to the Yihs entry into the business world – where both Kathy and Paul Yih had shared their educational interest with both areas of communication and counseling psychology. Kathy holds her Master’s degree from Marquette University and Paul has his Master degree in Educational psychology with the emphasis on Counseling and Guidance.

In that time and period of the graduate school to his first profession, as a psychological counselor – Paul is adamant about his specialized area – Educational psychologist and not “Therapist”.

In that period, Paul had already created a very broad-based counseling system called CD/CS – Communication Dynamic™ and Cultural Sphere™. The emphasis of the forever dynamic in our thinking process and the way we communicate – are of immense importance. He had “guided” and “counseled” many students and clients – not patients in his day whereas one of the earliest pioneers in the field of the entry of the Multicultural Education centers, the fostering of a more diverse world in then the academia – Early on, in 1975, Paul and Kathy Yih had added the other learning and educational awareness – the many different cultural settings – and the birth of CS™ Cultural Sphere had emerged.

It is the combination of the CD™ – Communication Dynamics working in conjunction with the many different CS™ – Cultural Spheres that had led the YIHS had created their own system of communication/counseling in the multi-cultural settings they have named it CS™ – Cultural Spheres.

The teaching of CD/CS™ are the instruments of education that had granted the YIHS as the forerunners, or pioneers in Cross- cultural psychology. Thus, the creation also of their own CCI- Cross-Cultural Institute.

The Yihs rich academic and research portfolio had given them the sort of perspective and their world view of things. The Business Aspect of the YIHs With 40 plus years of experience of international business and consulting he understands the complex and cooperative efforts behind the product, services, logistics, and exchange of ideas and the many great skill attributes, plus the richest experiences of gains and losses.

Born in China, raised in Brazil, and now residing in the United States his understanding of not only cultures but languages and in and out of all world locations from city jungles to the jungles in South America, which have allowed him to have bridged the gap and foster relationships for a wide variety of businesses and individuals.

His lifelong business goal has been to establish smooth paths between China and countries in Central and South America for mutual benefits. The rich resources of South America with the abundance of natural minerals plus the abundance of supply of foodstuff encouraged the Yihs early on with all supply heading into Asia and China. Thus, the conception of Casela was conceived as a parallel trade path of development to share much of the same initiatives of OBOR/BRI with the emphasis on Latin and South America.

CASELA is not a new venture, it is a life-long creation that came about through genuine connection and goals to bring together communities and people.

Culture, language, and people and location in this rich cross- a cultural area like Latin America which shouldn’t keep us from connecting even for the longest time, China remained very remote to the people of Latin America. I am here to foster these changes”
